50 years of quality engineering

Bruce Towns set up his engineering business over fifty years ago in Moorabbin, Victoria, to service Melbourne manufacturers’ growing demand for high precision metal components.

Since then Bruce Towns Engineering has continued to grow steadily, recently moving to a large, high-tech facility in Braeside on a new, purpose built industrial estate to service clients located throughout south-eastern Australia.

Bruce Towns has now stepped down from the day-to-day running of the business. The managing director’s role has passed to Alan Jenkins, who has been with Bruce Towns Engineering for more than 30 years. Most of the other core team of around 8 engineers, designers and highly skilled machine operators have also been on-board for many years. Delivering top quality, highly consistent outputs has always been a matter of team pride and shared commitment.

Top quality equipment

State-of-the art metal fabrication machinery doesn’t come cheap, but it is essential to remaining competitive at the international level. The computerised cutting, milling, folding, welding and turning machinery at Bruce Towns is amongst the best available in Australia to support quality manufacturing, and represents millions in continual capital investment.

Quality through and through

Bruce Towns Engineering’s commitment to quality doesn’t stop with components and machinery.

Our commitment to top quality of life means that we place worker safety and job satisfaction at the front of our priorities. Great working conditions, a clean working environment, and respect for the contribution of every team member is integral to the way we work.

We also strive for quality in the way we engage with our clients, across logistics, delivery, issues management and invoicing. Respect cuts both ways, and we find that the people who like to work with us are usually people we work with best.
